, and here are the cold numbers. santa rosa is 26 and fairfield at 24, 27 if livermore and morgan hill and the numbers are 5- to 10-degrees colder than yesterday morning. we are looking at coldest numbers after sunrise at least three hours from now where the numbers could drop further. from the 20's and 30's to the 40's by noon, upper 40's to near 50 for highs and we will have a winter mix for you tomorrow with details coming up. >> we have frost advisory for roads, but, first, we take you over to the sfo area with the crash headed along northbound direction along 101 you will find this accident mostly debris not lanes and the rest of the cars are off to the side. the golden gate bridge and cartinez and san mateo has frost advisories. be came. it is slippery. eight minutes away from sausalito to san francisco along the bay bridge and san mateo bridge takes you 13 minutes from hayward to foster city. the cold nap is a big shock to people in the south bay who used to mild weather and many have been preparing for the freezing temperatures. our reporter is if san jose with the news. >> a l

but half moon bay is at 37. those very, very frosty wind chills and ice to scrape. 26 in santa rosa, 19 in napa with low 20's and forwards conquer, and livermore, in the upper 20's and you have to get down to 24 in concord do break that record. the highlights she plenty of sunshine but not helping us to a warmup that much and we will only be in the upper 40's and the weather system heads our way to bring a winter mix on friday into saturday morning. here is the cold air. there is the next weathers maker. we will look for temperatures to be as cold tomorrow but with the cloud cover, that is nut going to happen until mid-morning so overnight we are clear and chilly and making united states in the low 20's with cloud cover to the mid-20's on 30's but not much warmer until the middle of next week. it will take some time. here is the low, not a lot of rain associated with it at quarter of an inch and showers at 11:00 in the north bay through the afternoon commute and the higher elevates will see a winter mix gone by the weekend and the west slope of the sierra, it will be difficult to get th

on the deputy who killed a santa rosa teen last month. the press democrat reports that deputy will return to work this week. he won't be in the field but on desk duty. he has been on leave. the deputy thought 13-year-old andy lopez was carrying an ak-47 when he shot him. the gun was a bb gun made to look real. in response the deputy's return the justice for andy lopez facebook page calls for a protest at the counsels tomorrow afternoon. >> deputies will continue their investigation into human remains found at shilo regional park. yesterday afternoon a father called the sheriff's office saying he and his two children spotted a human skull and a tennis shoe in a creek bed. deputies found other remains under leaves nearby. >> new details about the deadly asiana crash at sfo. the chronicle reports that three fire department commanders in charge of fire fighting and rescue efforts after the crash never took a required training course for aircraft disasters. the chief said it was not vital for commanders to take the course calling it very specialized training, meantime, tomorrow in washington,

: earlier today in santa rosa, local government officials voted to consider building a park. in honor of teen andy lopez. who was killed by a sheriff's deputy. >> pam: they also considered putting together a task force on police community relations. but as kron four's terisa estacio reports, the task force is already facing some criticism. and it hasn't even had its first meeting. >> reporter: it would also need to discuss ways to improve community relations. the shooting has created a lot of animosity. this task force will be made of 21 people appointed by supervisors, the d.a.'s office and sheriff's department. review of policies and cameras to record action spirit including toy guns. lopez was carrying a toy gun when he was shot multiple times. uc right here in this picture although some residents are in favor of the task force some believe that it does not get to the heart of the matter. >> i believe that they will get caught up in meetings and not invite people that will discuss the core issues. that is my worry. >> reporter: your very along the way happened in your community. >>

pictures of the nasty weather on their social media sites and sending them to us here at cnn. rosa florez has been collecting all of them. what are you seeing? >> you said it well, people are staying inside, so a lot of time snapping photos and submitting them to social media. but it is treacherous out there, one i-reporter submitted this photograph, overturned vehicles like this one in illinois have been a common occurrence in the states getting pounded by ice and snow. i-reporter jason aselen snapped this picture in michigan and also took some video that helps tell the story for him. he says that they're worried, they've been dealing with this for days. normally they see heavy snow first before the temperatures actually drop very low, which means water pipes have snow insulation he called it, but this time they saw about 6 inches of snow, then it rained which created a layer of ice and quite the mess he says. they're afraid that those water pipes will burst, and, of course, he said kids are forced to stay inside. no playing outside for those kiddos. >>> in areas of texas the chilling te

going to be chilly with 36 in santa rosa. napa also at 37. walnut creek at 42. again, some of the coldest air arriving as we head throughout wednesday morning. the other thing we're going to have to deal with here is that wind. beginning to ramp up tonight at the coastline. as we head throughout tuesday in the north bay, the peninsula, also for parts of the south bay, we could see wind gusts anywhere from 15 to 30 miles per hour. not only cool, but blustery across the bay. here's what you can expect. the worst of the chill to arrive as we head throughout wednesday. also thursday morning. and you can see it's going to be for the north bay and also the east bay where temperatures will likely range 25 to 32 degrees. remember to dress in layers. seems like common sense. just a couple of layers when you're starting off with temperatures in the 30s can make a huge difference for us. we'll get some more on the sierra winter weather advisory coming up. i want to get a look at our microclimate forecast. what you're going to find across the bay is tomorrow, again, it's going to be co

for some of the coldest temperatures, santa rosa and petaluma at 20 degrees and mill valley at 27 degrees. about 24 degrees in novato and 23 in american canyon and sausalito is close to freezing, same in calistoga and bodega bay at 34. san francisco is at 37 degrees and half moon bay, as well, and cupertino and lafayette looking good. san ramon is 40 in the hills but in the valley toward 680, it is 28 degrees. we have 12 degree microclimate over a mile and a half to two miles. sutro tower is cool, but it is a "spare the air" day with all of the sunshine and it will be hazy from time to time, and freezing cold and most of us tonight and slowly warming afternoons will translate into slowly warming overnight temperatures, too, but not today, upper 40's to low 50's. san jose the high was 47 degrees almost a record cold high tomorrow. the record is 46. tonight, we are in the 20's in most neighborhoods and low-to-mid 30's around palo alto and richmond and half moon bay and mid-30's around oakland and san mateo and the least likely areas to see frost the tonight we have high pressure over the oc

're in the 20s now, 21 degrees in petaluma, santa rosa is holding strong at 20, expecting to fall to 19, 18, up there so it's cold. you want to travel cautiously. in san francisco, look at this, forest hills 33 degrees, 33 west portal, 36 in the presidio, and 48 degrees in potrero hills. in the city of san francisco, almost crazy to think that one mile is a separation in temperature by about 10 degrees. so take you to the south bay. one of the coldest spots, 31 now, redwood city, the peninsula cold, down in the south bay 26 for santa teresa and 28 degrees in los gatos. that's cold enough for black ice so travel cautiously or you could lose traction. very dangerous. you are watching for a sheen on the road, you see that you want to slow it down. temperatures today are going to climb into the 40s and 50s. no major microclimate operation. 50 in mill valley, 50 in fremont today. and out in the tri-valley, san ramon about 45 so chilly conditions. into the end of the week a little warm-up. tomorrow morning a round of frost, a mild finish. we'll jump in the afternoon hours by 3 to 5 degrees into wedne

all over the bay, san mateo, santa rosa and parts of the south. if you should always travel with caution and the temperatures are low. westbound 580 is looking good with no problems. you are free and clear all the way to the dublin interchange. and the bay bridge toll plaza is not having any problems. no metering lights. highway 92 is in great shape with no problems for delays. the golden gate bridge is on time. >> the time is 5:03 a.m.. a human skull, a tennis shoe and other skilled toll remains have been found in a northern california park. the sonoma county sheriff's office as a hiker and his two children spotted the skull and the shoe in a creek bed. deputies plans to continue to investigate. >> the bay has been seen at the moment to drop to record lows over recent nights. at least five homeless people have died over the past two weeks. the most recent death happened behind an empty storefront on village park in dublin creek police somebody of the man or on 12:30 p.m. friday. they're investigating the possibility that it was due to exposure. many out reach workers around
